I couldn't agree LESS with your review of "Austin Powers." It may NOT be a great example of cinemagraphic brilliance, but I have YET to find a person who DIDN'T laugh at it, including my QUITE prudish mother. It was never MEANT to be genius, it was meant to be funny, and that it most certainly is. It makes fun of itself, and was designed to be tacky and mindless, which it accomplishes with flying colors! It's all in fun, so why don't people stop being so blasted uptight, and live a little! Go ahead and laugh! If Mike Meyers has it in him to make a sequel, I wish him all the luck in the world, and Godspeed. I know I'LL be in line to see it in the theatres, just for the laughs. That's what "Austin Powers : International Man Of Mystery" is all about.

Did you see the same movie that saw? I don't see how one cannot find the humor in "Austin Powers." Now I agree with you in the fact that it's not the funniest movie ever made, but give it some credit. The humor in "Austin Powers" lies in the fact that he thinks he's so sexy and smooth. The way he swaggers down Barnaby Street, the way he calls everbody "baby," and the way he looks for heaven's sake. The plot is ultimately unimportant. It is not a funny plot. The funny parts are any time Austin is on screen.

In regards to "Austin Powers," it's fun! Sure, it's not the most tasteful humor, but what's tasteful humor anyway? I laughed my ass off and obviously so did alot of other people for it to do well enough for a sequel. And your way off on your stereotyping the "Saturday Night Live" offsprings that work their way into the movies. I am not even going to go into their success... I feel sorry for those who can't watch a flick like Austin Powers and not understand the comedic gifts he posseses and uses in this nostalgic movie.
